  1. Where's the Elsan & bins in Kidderminster?
  2. There's a review of Trinity's first boat "Master H" in the November Waterways World.
  3. We used to sell this stuff in the independent merchants I used to manage. Sadly, plastic plumbing is an absolute nightmare, each manufacturer has its own view of what is the right size. Nominally, in everyday use, there are 2 waste pipe sizes, 40mm & 32mm. To add further aggravation the size of solvent weld or push fit for each manufacturer is a different size so you cant mix and match those. The push fit & solvent weld are also different types of plastic so you cant use push fit pipe in solvent weld fittings. The only way to be sure of a proper job is to use the same manufacturer throughout your particular job. You can get round most difficulties in mixing fittings by using the compression versions, they will accommodate the differences in manufacturers.
  4. Nor am I but I opened the link & scrolled down & could see all the pictures.
  5. That's exactly it, all the channels at one time, turned off overnight & then nothing at all the next morning, simple retune & they are all back. Sometimes its just the BBC channels that have disappeared but more often its everything. The aerial is about 2 years old, the outside box it plugs into the same, good quality cable, likewise inside the boat, nothings changed on that front. With the log periodic on a 5ft pole on the roof I've never had a problem finding a signal so never felt the need for any signal amplifier.
  6. They were having a "controversial down-sizing of the Royal Navy" then as well it seems.
  7. Thanks for those replies. Its not the wind blowing the aerial round because if I do a retune without touching the aerial all the programmes are back again. Apart from that its pretty stiff in its bracket anyway. Does it have an internal memory battery, rechargeable presumably, would it be replaceable?
  8. We have a probably 10yr old 12v TV & log periodic aerial which 99% of the time work perfectly. When we moor I point the aerial in the right direction & retune, sometimes we get over 200 DTV programmes other times less than 50 depending on where we are & the surrounding landscape. So far so good. Sometimes, lately, the following morning we find we've lost all the programmes or sometimes just the BBC programmes. Is it a fault in the telly or a problem with the transmitter? Any suggestions please?
  9. CRT have put a notice on the stoppage site with effect from 8am today that the Severn is closed from Lincomb lock to Gloucester until further notice.
  10. If no joy there, have you tried the Karting place in Gloucester opposite the Match Factory, cant think of their name though.
  11. There's nothing on the CRT site yet but here at Worcester, sat on the visitor pontoon just above Diglis river lock the level has been steadily rising, the boards are on the red, and the light board at Diglis Lock is showing 2 red lights. The blinds are down in the cabin so it appears the lock keeper has gone home. It is this weekend the hours change from 7pm to 6pm closing.
  12. Just seen on ebay, not me selling it, might be of interest to someone. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Old-Tiller-Pin-From-Poker-Handle-Narrowboat-Canal/163880321318?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D3d2efea2f9784946ba4929111df5982d%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D7%26sd%3D381005998795%26itm%3D163880321318%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2045573&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042 There were also 2 BW enamel badges for long service 35 & 40 years.
  13. https://gherbertbanks.co.uk/properties/100243002604-cookley-kidderminster/ An interesting property, bit of a project, we went past today & was intrigued by the agents sign saying no vehicular access! You'd have to take all materials in by boat.
  14. Stopped in Kinver today, I see The Vine has reopened "Under New Management" It looked as though it has been smartened up outside, lets hope it has inside as well, didn't venture in though.
  15. Doesn't he mean on the inside where you used cork tiles?
  16. A £1-50 pack of blu tak will probably do it very nicely, and be reusable if you ever need to add or remove a cable.
  17. From personal experience I would say not, the chains hang/lay in loops flat against the wall. It really is best to use a hand to get a rope round the chain if necessary.
  18. Didn't French Letters used to be called prophylactics???
  19. I've seen that used on a house in Brewood, just up the road from the pub, to remove a build up of paint on brickwork. Judging by the brickwork which had already been done it was very effective. It looked like they were doing the whole outside of the house with it. Surely you're not testing it on the dog????
  20. It certainly will!!! (If he's got an inspection hatch he could put a cork on the inside)
  21. We had a similar problem a couple of years ago with very slow flow. After trying just about everything I eventually found that the inside of the stub of pipe welded to the water tank had rusted from 1/2" to little more than a straw over 15 years. Cleaned/drilled it out & all sorted.
