  1. Pansy’s Ready! Is she? I wondered. For what exactly?
  2. Editor - No, we can’t cut on this frame. We can cut two frames earlier, or one frame later, but not this exact frame. Director - But I want to cut on THIS frame! Cutting one frame later will ruin the pace! Editor - Okay... so one frame later or two frames sooner? Your choice...
  3. As little as possible... On a more serious note I’ll point out that Sundays aren’t any more special than Mondays and while you might get Christmas Day off (and you might not) you’ll still work Christmas Eve and Boxing Day if they fall within your shift pattern. A 72 hour week wasn’t unusual and no, I wasn’t on double-double-double time for that, I was on a fixed contract. I’m quite sure I could have earned a lot more for a lot less hours if I’d chosen plumbing as a profession.
  4. Don’t be silly. You don’t even need to know anything about barges longboats narrowboats.
  5. I was wondering the same thing. Keeping any detritus well away from the cylinders.
  6. Dogs can and do defecate in their own gardens. Dogs also require exercise and just like with humans that can get the old bowels going.
  7. This site makes some interesting claims. I wonder what @Dr Bob thinks of them? http://permagconditioner.com/doc/RAF_and_NASA_fuel.pdf This site talks all about a patent for similar: https://patents.justia.com/patent/6024073
  8. And the last thing you want is a blister on your ring.

  11. When I were but a lad, living with my grandparents in Kingston, I used to cycle up to Teddington Lock and ‘help’ the lock keeper by turning one of those things. Oddest ‘boat’ I saw at that time was an old Bedford van with the rear end on axle stands, all on a big raft. A belt drive from the ns rear hub drove the prop. I don’t recall how it steered.
  12. Three offer even cheaper deals but it obviously depends on the data reception in the areas you generally cruise. Some can’t get Three, some can’t get O2, etc.
  13. Not a fortune. It entirely depends on how many subscribers you have and how many views your video might have. One guy I follow has half a million subscribers and each video achieves something like a quarter of a million views. He might earn around $400 US per video, but he makes lots of videos - at least one a week and sometimes more. Those YouTubers who have maybe 50,000 subscribers and get 25,000 views for each video will probably only be making less than £50 per video. This site goes into a bit of detail: https://influencermarketinghub.com/how-much-do-youtubers-make/ If you like lots of free tools then large (and small, I guess) companies will often target popular vloggers with the offer of free tools in return for product placement.
  14. Because they’re entitled. Along with a large percentage of the snowflake generation.
  15. Precisely. https://www.aerialsandtv.com/knowledge/aerials/aerials-for-caravans-and-boats
  16. It should be the battery voltage less maybe 0.1V.
  17. I believe that the glow plug works at a low voltage so don’t measure the voltage there, see 8V, and assume there’s a problem. Check the voltage where it connects to the unit.
  18. Exactly what I was about to suggest. It’s classic fuel starvation symptoms.
  19. Good to know. I hate doing calculations based on published specs as opposed to real world experience. Do you have any actual figures for consumption?
  20. Okay, that states a peak consumption of 110W, with 70W being ‘typical’. 8A at 12V gives 96A (the voltage would normally be above 12V so that gives some margin for error). 8A for 8 hrs = 64Ah, which is the total usable capacity of a 120Ah battery. As Loddon states above, that’s a very large draw; something like three times what you’d expect a fridge to use in 24 hours. To decide how large a battery bank you’d need to power the device you absolutely must do a power audit of all I your other items. I believe your biggest problem will be in generating the power daily to replace what you use in each 24 hour period, particularly in the winter when even a large solar setup cannot be relied upon. If you’re intending to be based in a marina or other mooring with mains power then it won’t be as much of a worry. Please come back with your audit calculations along with whether you’re planning on being marina based or continuously cruising. @Tony Brooks has some information to assist you with carrying out an audit here: http://www.tb-training.co.uk/MarineE05.html#The power audit
