Hi Lou, I may have something suitable but I'm away from home until Sunday. I have two versions of the hob. If you haven't got it sorted by the weekend PM me and I'll send photos of what I have. Phil

If you have no luck getting the jet unblocked, I have a couple of incomplete vanette hobs which I kept for spares. I could give you a burner if you are happy to dismantle your existing hob. There is not much to it if you can get out the screws which hold down the hob and those holding down the burner. PM me if you need one. Phil

Is there another hull fitting near the stern? If so then it could be the outlet from the second bilge pump and give you a clue to where that pump is.

leaky water pump change and pressure loss
philjw replied to Boaty McBoaty's topic in Boat Building & Maintenance
Is the pump you found in the box exactly the same as the one you took off? If so it is possible that the pump you think is new is actually the predecessor to the one you removed this time just put in the box that its replacement came in and you have two defective pumps. The fact that the current pump kicks in indicates a leak somewhere, possible back through the pump. I'm not sure why you needed to touch the accumulator. -
Towpath mooring near Buckby Wharf between locks 13 and 8
philjw replied to Lee.n.Jo's topic in Cruise Diaries & Reports
There is good mooring below lock 7 (top lock) but you will have done 6 locks by then. People do moor lower down as well. I would avoid 11 - 10 as that pound drops badly overnight. -
What you are describing sounds like a sash window fastener. Have a Google for them. There are plenty available.

Looks like a Centaflex M coupling https://www.pjpower.com/products/centa-couplings/torsionally-soft-couplings/centaflex-m To break these you remove the bolts from the side with 5 bolts the move the bolts to the other set of holes and tighten them. This forces the two halves apart. Might you be able to remove the four bolts from the gearbox side instead?

I had some form of plastic runners on a previous boat and although they were slippery the buckled badly in warm weather.

Doesnt have the right angled upstands to the hand rails. These are a great bit of design that stops you bashing your fingers when moving down the handrail, especially when cleaning the boat. Agree that the fore end looks to be Minden.

I weighed in four batteries at Daventry Non Ferrous Metals in 2022 and received just short of £50 by bank transfer. Take photo ID as said above. Unit 14 Everdon Park, Heartlands Business Park, Daventry, NN11 8YJ

Sterling Alternator to Battery Charger
philjw replied to dave921's topic in Boat Building & Maintenance
Could it be because the new battery is not fully charged and actually needs the boost from the A to B? If so then it ought to sort itself out given time. Did you measure the voltage before fitting the new battery? -
If you don't trust anti freeze testers you could put a sample of your coolant into a domestic freezer. I believe freezers are somewhere around -18 degrees Celsius. If the sample freezes then you may have a problem if the ambient temperature drops that low. I just use a tester like the one linked by Ditchcrawler.

Concentrated Prestone is available at Costco if you have access.

That's not the one. The shop in question is next door to the New Inn and is now part of a private house. The bit with the large window was the shop part I believe.

You could get the Andy Russell product from the 3P paint company in Stockport who actually made it for him but their website is not loading today so I'm unsure if they are still trading. Cheaper price too. 3p Paint Company (Stockport) Ltd opening times Hallam St, Hallam Mill, Stockport, Greater Manchester, SK2 6PT +44 161 477 4203

Tracing a Mr J.W. Collins on the River Lea
philjw replied to M.Carr Finders Intl.'s topic in General Boating
Might bé also worth asking NABO and/or IWA if they know if him. -
Stop cock turned on?

If you really need to pay someone to look for the leak then ask at Calcutt Boats. They have a range of people who do various boat related tasks. However it would be worthwhile following the pipework from the tank via the pump and on into the cabin. The pipes may well be hidden behind the fit out. Look for a disconnected fitting as suggested above as it sounds like a major leak.

There is a fuse on the panel it seems https://www.fischerpanda.de/content/C56375959C2659D556790F5E5F043A29/Fehlersuche_Flowchart_Marine_Rev2.1_eng.pdf

You could try unscrewing the panel then take the wires off the "on" button and joining them together in case the switch has failed.

Are you sure that the pipework from the shower to the box is clear? There may also be a kind of tubular affair in the intake to the box which has holes and acts as a crude filter. This also can block up. I think the problem may be that the waste water is not getting into the box and that the Rule pump is actually getting the box emptied as it fills.

Is this true for epoxy coatings? I thought it cures chemically rather than dries through evaporation of solvent.
