  1. Forgive my ignorance here guys, here goes. I have a 58' narrowboat and I'm looking to replace my calorifier from a 50l to 75l. Other than increased capacity, are there any other benefits like economy etc? Is an expansion tank essential, and do I get a single coil or twin coil? There's four radiators on the boat if that means anything 🤔
  2. You didn't used to work in the Jam butty mines by any chance? 🤣
  3. I've enquired, they're all busy sweeping chimneys
  4. Don't think my tank is quite that clean yet. Seems that I've got some work to do. At 6'2" and 17st, it'll not be easy!
  5. Thanks guys, these are really helpful comments. Cheers
  6. Thanks Tracy, I'll look into it (quite literally).
  7. Hi all, it would seem that the water tank on the narrowboat I've purchased hasn't been cleaned for 20 years! I've scraped and ground it back to the bare metal as best I can, but there are parts that I just can't get to. I've spoken to some grit blasters who say they can't complete the job, due to access issues. The underside of the tank is still quite corroded. Is there anything I can use to remove the rust, or treat it before I can coat it with two pack epoxy. Thanks.
