  1. Could you explain potential hazardous waste. This has been inside our bodies, are you saying it's fine sitting within us but hazardous on exit. Not sure of difference between doggy and human but believe dog poo can cause all sorts of disease. If buried or held within a garden compost long term is human waste really that harmful. Does anyone have some positive facts about this. Our sewage plants manage to treat everything going down our house toilets. Time to do some research.
  2. Fair enough but what extra work is involved in bringing in some compulsory regs requiring alarms. It might save a few lives.
  3. Just fitted a gulped and found it a hell of a lot quieter than the removed flo jet. Much quieter and faster. Now sits in cupboard about 5 inches above the bottom of shower tray with no problems. Pipe from outlet to pump is about 2 feet 6 inches and then 9 inches up to skin fitting.
  4. If you pay for a marina berth, as you say "away from home" then want to keep the boat on a towpath NEAR to home, my question is WHY? If you save your mooring fee you only have to travel short distances to regularly move the boat and comply with CRT guidelines. Something seems not quite right with your intentions.
  5. Wouldn't go anywhere near this.If you need ask why then don't go boat buying on your own.
  6. Just how do you think Boat Mail will get your mail to you?Probably the same way a friend would, posters restante to a post office near where you might be cruising/moored. Difference will be boa ail will charge you and have access to your personal mail. Better a friend relative you can trust.
  7. Thanks. Sorry late replying got side tracked. Yes tiling worktops, American wife and common over there. My concern is getting an even bed of adhesive as dropping something even perhaps a cup might cracking a tile. So the right type of adhesive and say depth of it spread under tiles.
  8. Perhaps you should re-post this into the Friday joke.
  9. Yes I think your right there.
  10. Need a bigger shunt if you want the BM to keep accurate figures while running stuff through inverter. You can of course wire the BM around the inverter so any inverter use does not go through the BM. Depends on what you want from the BM. Off you just want figures of say what solar is coming in or how much your TV, fridge or whatever is using then wiring around the inverter will work for you. If you want everything to register then get the correct size shunt.
  11. I`m looking for advice on what aeriel to use for picking up Dab/Fm signals from my hi -fi unit. Have been looking at this type(image below) as it would be easy to mount on an existing pole that supports our Logic freeview.
  12. Burning coal is usually OK, it's the Un seasoned wood (damp) that causes problems.

  15. Handy to spare jerry cans in winter in case you get frozen in. Always keep water and fuel tanks regularly topped up plus two Jerry's starting first week of December. Long life milk ,tin food, and part bake bread are other little precautions. Wake up to ice two mornings running and it's time to get within a reasonable let walking distance of a water tap so you can use trolley to fetch 25 litres at a time.
  16. None of them appeal to me but each to their own eh!
  17. If you have the D5w it's best to run it with all rads open so it as said works hard and doesn't coke up.Evidently the eber can be used with some rads shut down to give a tank of hot water quickly but this will especially on the high power d5w lead to it pulseing on/off and coking up. If weather a bit warm and you want just hot water perhaps ventilate boat and run ebey a full hour minimum.

  19. About 4 years back I removed our stove and tiled under and around it both on existing tiles and heat resistant board. All has been well all this time. Now I intend to Tile the worktops and install a new sink. The adhesive I used after advice on here I think was a Red tube called EVO stick. Anyone can suggest what it was or a product I can use for tiles to worktops bearing in mind the sink/water site. Of course will use a waterproof grout. Thanks
  20. How are you measuring it? Did you have a lock on the filler cap? I suggest you suck some of the contents from bottom of tank before you do anything. You are looking for water. If no sign of water then sounds like a straight forward theft that has left your fuel level below the take off pipe feeding the engine and this has caused the chugging. After sorting this out be aware the thieves will return having got away with it once. Get some good security on the cap. I would have thought once they had your diesel they would not hang around to put water in the tank because you are soon going to find out when it chugs. They would use the time to escape.
  21. I always associate these with boys toys like bow thrusters but it`s your money spend it as you wish.
  22. Someone used to put their`s in a condom on a pole outside, could be painful. Not joking it was a fact.
  23. Not sure why the guy has it on his boat but it`s what he wants so good luck to him. Just hope he`s considerate when using it to and from road. Some folk have butty`s with birds of prey, some with a small menagerie of chickens, rabbits and other kids pets. Seen some boats with amazing plants and veg growing behind glass in what was the cargo hold.
  24. Trouble with satellite is you always need a clear view to the sky with no trees etc in the way. We got fed up with this dictating our mooring spote so ditched it all and bought a freeview box and log perodic aerial. It does us as if we can`t find anything we read or do something else. Of course if you need your fix then you have to go for full sky package, recording or huge internet package allowing on demand stuff. Each to their own, choose and pay the price.
