  1. I have had the same problem with these. Can't use the trolley to wheel them as it will spill out. I gave up and my compost toilet gets here tomorrow so will see how I get on with one of those.
  2. Autumn and winter are my favourite time! Being in a small space roasting yourself while looking out and seeing how cold it is... such a nice experience
  3. Mine is under the shower tray and works perfect.
  4. No its not what you see everyday... your either exaggerating or its a one off occurrence and you were unlucky.
  5. Yes right near a junction so must be it cheers!
  6. These are great for heavy loads if you got somewhere to put it. Good price too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302065605333?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  7. I noticed a disabled mooring on the Llangollen near some marshes containing raft spiders?
  8. Draft is actually 0.62 and there are many boats with engines listed as 999hp. Must just be default on CRT's end as its the data they have shared.
  9. i have a database like canalplan but its more up to date. Anyhow just shows year of manufacture as 1965 and the draft being 0.62 so just filling in some missing info if its of any use
  10. Rima was built in 1965. currently on the Staffordshire and worcestershire canal?
  11. I will try get round to doing a video. I just basically use an entire newspaper every sheet rolled up and tied into knots. Shove those into fire then the old bits of loose charcoal/unburnt coal on top then a fresh layer of coal. Then stick a long lighter in and away I go.
  12. I just keep the whole bag inside and use it straight from the bag...
  13. I used these and they are great: http://www.norburywharfltd.co.uk/webshop/lighting/leds/ba15d-15lp/
  14. Yes its fine to use. I'd just buy 1 colour and use the coloured sleeves at the ends. The yellow crimping tool someone posted for £17 is great I have that exact one and I also have another more expensive brand that cost £100+ and they are identical...
  15. Well I light with them just fine. I use smokeless
  16. As a kid my mum taught me to roll newspaper up and make paper sticks... those work well for me.
  17. I finally put tv on our boat for the winter and I went with freesat. Seems better when the boat moves I don't loose signal like with freeview. Also the humax box I went with you can plug a usb hard drive in which lets you record. Tons of channels but all a load of crap.. I know why I went without now.
  18. I buy my coal from the marina which buys from the coal boat. I might be paying slightly more but its very convenient and keeps money in boaters hands I do wish they'd stock some logs but I suppose coal takes less space and makes em more money.
  19. can't go wrong at 50p each. Look quite practical
  20. Looking at some things in my boat like freesat box the plug says 12v so in theory you can just chop the wire and wire to your batteries for things like that. Same with my cats fountain...(yes they are very privileged)
  21. I've got a victron 150/85 and its great. I got 8 x 250w panels. 4 panels per series.
  22. Well cost of wiring your boat with 12v vs 240v will be much more money because of thicker wires Inverters are quite efficient now so I don't see the need for only living with 12v.
  23. If I had someone boat sit I wouldn't want them messing with my engine area... anywhere else I'd be ok with and happy about.
