  1. It does look indeed like the diaphragm may need replacing! Just stripped the pump down and found this.... I have an old one in a box of bits that may do as a temporary repair, so I'm going to try that once I get home. Hi Tony, I will definitely be fitting a filter, I found some metal in with all the plastic so it looks like it ingested that. Thanks for the advice.
  2. I have had a look at the pump, however I cannot see a filter. Is the filter built-in to the pump? The supply from the water tank goes directly into the pump. I have attached a photo in case this helps.
  3. I think I may need to replace the water pump on our boat, as the water flow has dropped from its normal flow rate to barely a trickle. The pump is a Shurflo Aqua King. I have tested the pump using a direct 12v feed and the flow is no different, so it looks likely I need a new pump. However, before I shell out on a new pump I was wondering if there was anything I could check or if there was a common problem with these pumps.
  4. Thanks for the tips, I shall check the grate. I assume that by squirrel spinner you mean one of these, if so what benefit does this give? Does it help you to control heat more accurately? Thanks
  5. I have noticed that the glass does soot up very quickly, I've only cleaned it using damp newspaper so far.
  6. So far, I've only used ours a couple of times since we got the boat. I have noticed different coals vary in heat. So far its performing well. First night it went out early in the morning but thats because I didn't close the vent enough. It stayed in last night all night and just needed a fettle to get it going again this morning.
  7. Hi we have just purchased our boat and I am trying to identify the make of the stove, so that if I need spares I now what I am looking at. we may also add a backboiler at the future should we feel we need it. I think it may be a Villager Puffin. Does any have a clue? Thank you

  10. In light of recent posts of a similar nature, where various suggestions have been put forward, questions asked and people offering their services only for some of these to be deleted immediately without explanation or people being suspended I feel it is somewhat a waste of breath. However, given that caveat I personally wouldn't have an issue if a post of mine being edited provided the moderation is fair and that the goalposts don't get moved. For rules to work all sides need to abide by them.
  11. I can't quite see what has sunk there... Hang on, I'll have to take a closer look... Is it the Canal World Discussion Forum?
