  1. Hell, according to my solar controller, I use 100kwh over 3 months!
  2. I've been using a sunshine solar inverter for 12 months, my first one went knackered in 3 days running the fridge, it got replaced under warranty and this one has been perfect ever since.
  3. I now find myself constantly checking that page to see how much your panels are generating
  4. As it says on the 2nd link "Its a 1/4 scale radio controlled model that is 18 feet long and weighs 1/3 tonne"
  5. I'm at work during the day, and 16 deg is fine when you're under a blanket! keep it ticking over at that to keep the boat aired!
  6. I'd forgotten about that one, looks like tractor top links as a tensioner.
  7. Hell fire, I buy 2 25kg bags of excel every other saturday, and I normally have quite a lot left over. Thats with the boatman lit 24/7, backboiler with 1 rad, keeping the boat at about 16 deg through day and night, 22deg through the evening whilst I watch TV
  8. I own 2 cruisers, and have been cruising them together for just about a year now single handed. Towing on cross straps with the boats 1ft apart its ok going between the 2 boats even when underway, breasted together it's also not an issue, or pushing one with the other (just on tight ratchet straps stern-bow) its almost one boat, just annoying if the pushed boat is taller than the boat doing the pushing!
  9. Had it on my LG G3, found it horribly slow and unusable so got rid.
  10. Are you on restricted licence? They sometimes block accounts of people "under enforcement"
  11. One of my boats came with (and admittedly still has) a blue stern light for some reason, god knows why it's there!
  12. To be honest they're my exact thoughts about Ariel as well! 60 footers don't come up all that often though (neither do the 70s for that matter!).
  13. Being of the centrifugal type pump, I would guess that the inlet is the one inline, outet at 90deg.
  14. What about a 60ft RW Davis? http://narrowboats.apolloduck.co.uk/feature.phtml?id=442649
  15. I have welded die cast ally before, it isn't impossible.
  16. I'm guessing it's this one? If so, it really should be an easy weld job for anyone competent - a damn sight cheaper than a new morse lever.
  17. Surely its much more effective/efficient to have the panel charging a small 12v battery, and then charging your devices from that?
  18. Single skin gets hotter externally (more risk of burning yourself/roof lining), twin wall keeps its heat better so allegedly draws better, and is a lot safer near flammable surfaces.
  19. Depends on the size of the casserole dish! Mine (20cm ish diameter) overhangs the front of the hotplate, but that's partly down to using twin fall flue the whole length
  20. If any car can do the job, its definitely a Fourtrak!!!
  21. A boat a few spaces down from me has one fitted, and I'm sure it's louder than my generator!! Ban 'spachers between 8 and 8, that's what I say! (and get a proper heating system that you put coal onto)
  22. Shading of individual panels wired in series has MORE effect on the overall efficiency
