Maggie told me that that shoal has been there as long as she can remember 50+ years and she should know born n raised in Farndon and when she was a kiddy a great treat was to go over on the Farndon ferry (Clarkys side) and spend hours paddling there, think it was a case of wrong time wrong place in the river and yes the Trent is very very low at the moment
AS posted afore this So Called Baillif has Not repeat Not got any power over the Kiln VMs please do report it in the morning open 10.00-12.00 this man caused a great deal of agro just after Fishin season started resulting in police presence and some very angry boaters!!!!
The so called bailiff has no jurisdiction on that CRT mooring do please report this to the kiln in the morning I am sure they would like to know you might find he comes back taking photos as well and cause trouble (Big Prat)
If done properly Spray painting gives a better finish but the prep time will be longer (masking up ect) also if the paint is two pack its better sprayed and its quicker to apply brush painting If done well i.e no brush marks gives the same end finish just depends on the painter
Down the Trent none tidal till Cromwell Lock then onto Torksey Lock for a tide stop. Onto Keadby Lock along the canals to Selby Lock out at Selby up To Naburn on the Ouse should not be a problem at all if planed correctly even for a novice the rivers can be a bit daunting for a novice but you might as well start somewhere just plan and get all the info you need can be done in about 8 days if pushing it ( note Holme Lock may be still closed till 16/05/2014 )CRT hope to have it repaired abit sooner than that if poss Lock Keepers on the Tidal will put you right on how to do this.On the Rivers a VHF is very useful to call locks ( Channel 74) and to monitor any other traffic
