  1. George Clark's amazing places should still be on "catch up" or ITV player or whatever they call it.
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  3. Has anyone here got a refillable gas tank built in to their boat, something like an LPG powered car?
  4. maybe they sell them back to CRT
  5. Slightly off topic, this weekend may not be the best choice, weather forecast rain and blustery wind
  6. I think the Foxton inclined plane renewal has been abandoned due to the running costs i.e. replacing the cables regularly. Falkirk wheel and Anderton lift don't have this problem. The Middlesborough transporter bridge has cables so someone is covering those costs there mind you it is a toll bridge maybe that helps.
  7. Something from the dark arts, good for the single hander even if a bit expensive.
  8. Yes but I've found one that floats:- https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/pn_5dMHsCPE?autoplay=1&hd=1&rel=0&showinfo=0&start=14&end=178
  9. Over time ultraviolet light might break down the silicone.

    No water

That's totally ludicrous, to own a body of water and not be able to use it for the purpose it was designed for.
  11. This must be the thinking behind the 14 day limit on mooring, you moor up and cut back 60 foot of towpath, within 14 days you are off again to clear another 60 feet and so on and no cheating by mooring where someone else has cleared.
  12. Actually I think its about 187 miles as the crow flies, Folkingham to Alnwick.
  13. That link takes me to the thread about Cambridge which I reckon is a huge walk to waitrose at Northwich.
  14. I was sitting reading a book in the shade of the tree at lock three most of Sunday afternoon and I noticed the farm land adjacent to the canal has vegetation you would expect in marshy areas not sure whether that has any bearing on this or not, but it increases my post count by one
  15. I suppose you need to pressure wash everything to neutralise the acid which has presumably covered the inside of your engine bay
  16. My fault I didn't realise that he might intend using a 240V generator to charge his battery bank I thought it was to power 240V equipment, his engine with existing alternator would charge the battery bank anyway and negate the need to bring petrol onto the boat.
  17. You would need one hell of a long anchor rope on Loch ness
  18. When people talk of a 60/40 split which is the 60, propulsion or domestic?
  19. I think if you argued you had moved within the 15 days that should be accepted if 15 days later you again at A then things start to look suspicious and your argument looks weaker.
  20. Give the man a break, these things can't be rushed.
  21. Are suitcase genes cheaper than a 240V alternator fitted to the main engine?
