    Goat

I was considering alpacas, they can keep the grass down on the towpath by the boat, tow it if the engine fails and spit at cyclist passing by too fast. Also get a free jumper every year
  2. Me too, I don't want to be a friend I want to be a member and have some feeling of partnership.
  3. And if they had inflatable bags on them people could walk on water
  4. I wonder why it is that boat people don't immediately pick up the phone and dial lawyers 4 you as people would if it were to happen on the street
  5. In preparation for the next series of great canal journeys in case Timothy West comes up behind him
  6. If I had ash to dump it would probably be on the towpath rather than raise the bottom of the canal closer to the top.

    SCUM.

I say bring back the birch, a sound thrashing never hurt anyone :-)
  8. The Thames doesn't have a towpath, there are places to more free but mostly for limited time almost everywhere else someone will arrive in double quick time to charge you for mooring :-(
  9. And this was my main objection to the TV programs presented by Timothy West, calling boating a contact sport was in my view unhelpful, and it wasn't just once but appeared to be a feature of each of the programs.
  10. If it wasn't in a puddle he would need a ladder to get in and out of the boat
  11. Rig up some sort of net arrangement that way the drone won't bounce.
  12. Maybe they will alter the other side to match then it will be uniform width throughout - - - - - - - Hhhhm then we all have to make our boats banana shape
  13. Maybe a fleet of the swan types emerging from a tunnel :-)
  14. Amateur is not necessarily synonymous with incompetent :-)
  15. And the London narrow boat project for running the waterways side of it :-) The LNBP is running the six narrow boats that be used for the event.
  16. Hi Mike can you explain a little further I don't understand what you mean by making a level :-(
  17. I wonder about potential insurance issues, since the team of, "Say pen pushers is now being paid by the company on company time to do strenuous activities in potentially more hazardous environment" doesn't that mean that the companies insurance risk has changed? I would think that in the event of an accident the initial claim by the injured party would be on the company insurance.

    Tiller pins

Thank you for the offer but I have a figurine appropriate to the proposed name of the boat so I will probably carry on and do it myself, I have access to a machine shop so it wont be a problem. :-)

    Tiller pins

Are the pin parts of the tiller pin a standard size I'm making one for my boat (which I don't have yet but has been ordered), from photos they look to be about 6mm dia by about 100mm long then the figurine on top.
  20. This is beginning to sound like the Monty Python sketch ,
  21. Did you see the canopies on the Dudley Trust boat down by the marina at Crick? They had a light aluminium tube frame in two parts covered with a material and plastic canopy, looked the business.
  22. I like the phrase "was incredibly unhurt" I wonder how unhurt that was :-)
  23. I'm pretty sure that was at Crick boat show.
  24. I accept defeat I am upstaged and you have too much time on your hands
