Watching PS 'Waverley' use a stern spring to move away from Ryde Pier Head this week has been impressive.

Yes. It's struck me that Golden Glow might be brewed to the same recipe as another beer (the best in the whole wide world IMHO) brewed not a million miles away from Delph Bottom Lock.

A (serious) question. Does the taste of Golden Glow (Holdens) put you in mind of another beer?

Rumour has it that he (I think it is a 'he') objects to boats using the lock in the evening. (Obvious comment.......Why buy a house etc etc........)

Stone. A **** hole? No, no and thrice no! It's a lovely place. Great pubs, The Swan, The Royal Exchange, The Borehole, that new Joules place and if you really need it, a McSpoons. The shopping ain't bad either. And on top of all that there a narrow gauge railway in the boatyard above the locks. What more does one ask for?

I came to the back of the boat to find two pairs of legs standing on the counter. They belonged to the people from the boat breasted up next door who were being interviewed by a youth from the regional ITV news.
