Anderton Lift closed

Don't think anyone has put this up yet:

 

Due to mechanical failure of pumps the Anderton Boat Lift is currently in stoppage.

 

We are working to resolve this issue currently and a further update will be published at 12noon.

The Anderton Boat Lift is currently in stoppage and our team are working to rectify the problem.

Just received a notice that the lift has been vandalised. A blanket had been pushed into the system and has damaged the pump. Repairs likely to go into next week!

Is it not the Anderton services which have had a blanket pushed into them?

Easy mistake to make as it can't be often that they are both out of service on the same day! Hopefully :-)

Anderton services is closed until further notice.

Our contractors have visited the site and found that it had been vandalised - a blanket has been pushed down the system resulting in the failure of and damage to the pump, and leading to a blockage. We are in the process of procuring new parts for the pump and expect that we will be able to undertake the repairs early next week. We will advise further when we have been able to confirm the programme.

In the meantime, we can only apologise for any difficulties that this situation causes.

Pump out is available at 3rd party sites in the area, we can provide more details by calling the Red Bull office on 03030 40 40 40.

Both the lift and the services were buggered yesterday.

 

The services are still shut but the Boat Lift seems to be ok again. A few boats have gone through earlier and I'm booked on at 13.40.
