Possible Marina on Grand Union

A former Ownership (self managed) boat is seeking a new location, preferably on the Grand Union or one of its branches. Full services and facilities are required--valet services, toilet/showers, electric hookup,laundry, periodic maintenance, car parking, fuel and pump out, etc. The boat is in use nearly full time (with week end turnovers) from March through November. Year long contract to begin May 2016. Suggestions from other former Ownership owners would be helpful.

Before buying our own boat in 2014 we had a share in a boat that was based at Gayton (ABC base). Excellent service from them and, unusually for a share boat, we had our very own mooring.

 

We we also briefly based at the northern end of the Blisworth Tunnel. Very disappointed there, had to move early due to numerous problems PM me if you require more details.

There are several share boats and hire boats a Wigrams, which is a good place as there are 4 directions to go within a short distance of the marina.

Have a look at Calcutt Marina, they have their own fleet, plus look after boats for the Navy so should be OK

OwnerShips had bases at Wigrams Turn, Calcutt and Stockton Top Marina as well as Blisworth. If you still use the OwnerShips Friday to Friday system then you need to check that the facilities you require for 'turnround' are available on that day.

 

In particular, valet service can prove a problem if a base is not turning round hire boats on the same day.

 

The ex ownerships website now appears to be offline, however boatshare4u.co.uk provides a list of bases used by shared owners.

We have just completed our third year at Gayton (ex Ownerships shared boat) and had a positive experience and our own mooring like yourself. Coincidentally, we had a year at the other place you mentioned, and we had several problems and we're glad to move away.
