Robbo
By you, possibly. As it's offering a service relevant to the group of people at whom it is aimed, I would not call that "spam". No spam is unsolicited advertising. Unless you asked for it, it's spam.
kevin222
You have just posted your email address... again, meaning the mods will have to scramble it again.....you just cant help some people...... i no sorry wasnt meant to do that
PaulG
ok lets get this sorted.. yes the email is mine kevin doesnt have a clue about computers and im doing it through my email and no i wont have 101 different email adds and as for shouldnt be on here..look around there are plenty giving there services oo i see just cause im a women im stupid is that right Ahh... I see. So you are saying that you are not Kevin, (although you said that you were). You are actually Kevin's "other half", posting on his behalf. I'm not suggesting that you have any ulterior motives, but for the future it would be better if you stopped pretending to be someone that you are not. It arouses suspicion. The difference here is that you seem to have just jumped straight in promoting and advertising your services for which you will get paid, without any other contribution. It's not in the R&G's to be fair that you have to, it's just regarded as a general courtesy.
Delta9
You would have probably had more success if you had made some effort to join the community here before advertising your services. Joining the forum for the sole purpose of advertising isn't going to get you many fans. As Nick pointed out, Kevin probably can't fit IP cameras, as he knows nothing about the internet, and Naomie who is in charge of marketing is clearly not very good at marketing. You are not off to a good start.
Paul's Nulife4-2
To answer KevNa !! Post 23 It shouldn't make any difference 'what my boat is run on' as you put it, I would hope any security measures professionally installed would have it's own independent Storage, Supply, and Recharging capabilities as a stand alone security measure !.All of mine have !. Athy
No spam is unsolicited advertising. Unless you asked for it, it's spam. I would describe spam as unsolicited random, irrelevant advertising. Kevin has also offered his services as a boat engineer on the forum. This may indeed be in breach of forum rules (though he probably did not realise that) but, on a forum dedicated to boats and boating, it's a service which is very relevant as it is aimed a defined specialist audience. If he'd advertised biscuits or mucky magazines, even though there are doubtless forum members who enjoy both these commodities, that would be spam because it would not be aimed at the particular interest group which comprised CWF's membership. Most, if not all forums don't allow advertising spam like Kevin's because a forum full of advertising posts however relevant doesn't make a decent forum and one of the reasons CWDF is so popular is because advertising posts are non existent. Yes this is true. However what we are doing is giving them feedback so that in future their efforts are more likely to be successful. Clearly they don't realise that it looks suspicious and unprofessional to have a girl posting under her guy's name, and a guy whose primarily work contact is his girl's email. Also that demonstrating a poor command of written English doesn't inspire confidence in workmanship. Also that they are misusing this forum by advertising their wares as a first post without previously engaging. By giving them this feedback they might do better next time, if not they will definitely need all the good luck that you can wish them.

Machpoint005
I'll bet you can't justify that comment. He's talking about inspiring confidence, which is purely subjective, so he doesn't need evidence. Even if he did provide "evidence", something he might find utterly convincing might mean nothing at all to someone else.
