MartinClark
Please sir, I've got my hand up I think it might be the tunnel under the disused railway by the Bird in Hand Stourport on the Staff & Worcs. Sorry, Steve. Possibly a horse tunnel, like the one under the GU at Cosgrove, but if so I have no idea where this one is..... 'Horse tunnel' is good but 'Cosgrove' is less so. Given the stonework (and your website) I assume this is somewhere up north? I think it's fair to make that assumption, David!
steve hayes
Sorry, Steve. 'Horse tunnel' is good but 'Cosgrove' is less so. Yes tempted to follow Dave Mack's lead having looked at your website and therefore at a loss
David Mack
'Horse tunnel' is good but 'Cosgrove' is less so. I think it's fair to make that assumption, David! Can't think of anything like this on the Rochdale or Huddersfield (but I could be wrong), so I'm minded to think Ashton/Peak Forest or perhaps Hollinwood Branch... alan_fincher
'Horse tunnel' is good but 'Cosgrove' is less so. Yes, I knew the last bit...... MartinClark
Yes tempted to follow Dave Mack's lead having looked at your website and therefore at a loss There is a reason for that - it's not on my website yet but will be shortly. I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone could identify it here before I add it to the site. Can't think of anything like this on the Rochdale or Huddersfield (but I could be wrong), so I'm minded to think Ashton/Peak Forest or perhaps Hollinwood Branch... Sounds like you're clutching at straws, there.... Yes, I knew the last bit...... Something more like this, I suspect, but probably not that one, (even the other end of it!....) You're right - it's not that one!

I will publish another photo of this feature, from a different angle, in a day or so if you need more of a clue. Doesn't look to be next to any water ... could it be a footpath tunnel underneath a canal - Stonework looks a bit like L&L perhaps, though I don't know where... or possibly a bit of the Bradford Canal close to shipley Junction...
