matty40s
http://www.flickr.com/photos/matty40s/4022509029/ Does any one know where I can get a male plug to fit this 12v outlet from the genny. I have tried a couple of chandlers, and even maplins with no joy. It is a Powercraft genny an they've gone bust so no spares available.
Big Steve
Not seen one like that, why not put a readily available type in its place?
Guest
Looks the same as one on my ancient Yamaha generator, which is also missing. I use two male spades if I need to use this output, which frankly is rare.

journeyperson
My Aldi Powercraft cheap and cheerful chinese generator has that fitting. I believe the suppliers, Omega Wolf, have gone into administration so I don't know how easy it will be to find accessories now.

DHutch
Caravan 2 pin connector? Looks like it to me. - Otherwise, as said, cut it off and use somthing sensable! Otherwise, i would question what your going to use a 8.3amp 12v feed for. Barely enough to fire up a 100w lightbulb. Like the engineroom btw (having a nose on your flickr steam) very good. Won't a 30Amp charger need a 240V supply? the 8Amp output on the genny will be of very limited use for charging batteries.
matty40s
so i guess from your comment catweasel, I just run a plug from the 240V socket , via charger, to batteries (with a smartguage fitted of course ) and thank-you Dhitch (emilyanne), it takes most of my spare time up, but it's worth it. Justme
Yep use a mains charger direct to the 3 pin socket. The 2 pin one only supplies 8amp max. Its for camping stuff really. Unless your bats are very small it will take longer that that genny will last to charge them (or it would on my bat bank over 100 hours running time from 50% soc)

They used to be very common for low voltage DC until the Din plugs came along Acorn Engineering list them as part of the boat's low voltage circuit.
