It is two weeks today that we moved aboard Matilda Rose, we have had a dog overboard in a lock, we have had 3 engine failures, one on the river Cherwell when we tried to make a new channel in the reed bank fortunately no damage. we have been frozen in for the last three days.]And we Love It!!!!!!!!!

Know the feeling - we managed to get living afloat despite a whole collection of touch and go problems a little over 3 years ago now and the odds of us going back to dry land out of chouce are about nil.

Winter is like any other season - prepare for it - enjoy it. We've had ice here for the last 3 days and folk are moaning. Daresay the same folk will be moaning when it rains instead of freezes and when it is too hot

None of our families support us in our choice - but we don't live for them we live for oureselves. We aim to harm none and help all and have by and large had similar treatment from those around us.

Best wishes

I still love it (despite spilling a full ash bucket on the bows thus wafting it's contents through the air vents and into my boat, then today, discovering the reason the cassette in the loo was lasting so long - it was leaking - now sitting here in my ship of p*ss as it dries out with heaters blazin' (thank feck for shore power. )
