Shame that people post good stuff on faceache to be lost amongst so much rubbish.

Bit like on here, or anywhere else on any form of media. Remember Sturgeon's Law - when someone told him 95% of what he wrote was crap, he wisely replied "95% of everything is crap". And so it is.

Good stuff needs to be on a proper website, not social media.

Although I firmly believe that facebook is the porn of the Devil The Liquid Highway is one place on there I do look at. No drivel, no worthless idiots just a collection of cool pictures of cool Boats and some comments.

This is an example of how facebook can do Good Things.

Thames tugs are pretty wicked boats.

Unfortunately, there's a huge amount of garbage on "proper" websites, most of it as misleading and inaccurate as Facebook. I've just read a comment in a book written ten years ago that is was, even then, almost impossible to find anything useful via Google. And it's ten times worse now.

I'd say good stuff needs to be printed in books, but then...

websites can contain the same drivel as posted on the likes of Facebook but with the disadvantage that it generally cannot be challanged

But if only sensible things were posted on farcebook we would never know what people had just eaten for breakfast, or who is away on holiday for a fortnight - great info for the local ne'er do wells and similar scroats.
