Sorry to say, I doubt I’ll be buying her cook book, just don’t think it’s worth it for a 150 page book, when there’s so many available on Amazon. I’ll try a cake though if I’m near,

It might make a decent present.

Not too bad a price if it’s well written and nicely illustrated.

I imagine buying tea and cakes for two would be a similar price.

so where’s the cover illustration ? 🧐 Tixall Wide? 😃😃

To be fair, have you ever bought one of those cookbooks from Amazon? Unless it’s a legit author it’s usually a paperback with utter rubbish collated from the internet in it.

Get my books from charity shops, always a good selection of cook books from known chefs and bakers.

Yes I imagine would be a nice gift for someone who has just bought their first boat.🧁🍰

They're already dead.

Then I’d be sure to cremate them

That would add some much needed flavour

It's not the fat or the mix that's critical. Mostly it just needs a good hot oven and the fat to be really hot when you add the mix.

That’s why I wanna try the lard because it does get proper hot

I remember my mum doing them that way

...come to think of it though,  hers weren’t much cop,

I always had them for afters with jam on.

Son in law makes great ones without using lard. The oil and tray are very hot when the batter is added.

Or just buy the frozen ones.

I've been overtaken by my kids as the chief Sunday roast cook. And it's Yorkies with everything not just beef.

Lard may be best for heat but it really isn't critical. We don't use it.

Metal tray helps with the heat.

or ice cream!!

I think I’m getting there,

it’s the first solo Yorkshire pudding that’s come anywhere looking like Yorkshire pudding.
Things can only get better!

We only had Ice Cream at Sunday Lunch if the ice cream van came round at just the right time, we didn't have a fridge let alone a freezer
