Could anyone let me know where I can buy or download a maintenance book on the Gardner 3L2 engine

I think it might need searching for and probably second hand. You may be lucky and find an online one that you can download and print. If you can't find one and just need the technical data like valve clearances just ask here.

Try asking on the Facebook group Gardner Oil Engines, they are very helpful. They have LW and L3 manual in the files section, but someone on there may well have an L2 manual.
