Belgium again, on the joint trip with Secunda andArthur, heading back to England.. The bridge with a freighter going through is at Bruges, with the tail end of short boat Arthur visible on the left. It may not look it, but this was one of several exits from a largely ciircular lock on the canal past the city.

The twin tower device was one of several encountered west of Gent, in one instance, thwarting the efforts of a quantity of people trying to get to a factory on time. Water transport took precedence, but it was not well received

Moored at the south end of Snarestone Tunnel. Although the Ashby Canal was built to wide boat dimensions, the tunnel is apparently not suitable for boats 7 ft 0 ins wide!

It is an excellent site to build a factory, with the canal right next door for delivering raw materials and finished product. I'm surprised it wasn't snapped up earlier, since the canal has been open again most of this century. 😀

I’m sure they’re building a school there.

….or was it a school they knocked down?

Nah. More 18th and 19th century re-enactment in the 21st century, as well as using narrowboats for transport, the factory work force will be mostly children.

Stroudwater canal today- The Ocean.

Large supports have been cast on site to restore the railway bridge once again to its more appropriate function. Likely to be too large to transport. All was scheduled for May BHol 2021 but the foundations are needing to be  more substantial. Towpath will close from Mid Oct till Christmas when all needs to be place during the close down. It’s the main Plymouth to Birmingham former GWR line.
