We had many crossings in the little ferry Dirk (little blue boat behind the RIB's) from Oban Marina to the mainland.

Today, 2016, it was down the Wigan flight, with lots of children to meet us at Britannia Bridge, where the official 'opening' day of the canal is commemorated in stone, one of two bridges with this inscription.

2016, and Kennet has reached Burscough after a butty stop at Crook Cruising Club. Once again, there were lots of spectators, and a ukulele band to welcome the boat. I was easily out-performed by their town crier.
