This is a brilliant restoration of the The Restorer's memorystone. I had seen pictures of it before, and assumed it was a photograph under perspex or similar, instead of brushed steel with an etched image. Well Done WRG 🙂

Community Spirit in evidence at Tyrley Wharf (ex-)Winding Hole

"Goldstone Wharf can be reached from Tyrley without passing through any locks."

There are likely to be few boaters who, having ascended Tyrley Locks, would wish to immediately turn and go back down the flight, so almost all those desiring to use this winding hole will have arrived from the south. Meaning that the lack of locks between there and Goldstone will be little compensation for the two mile reverse through Woodseaves Cutting!

On this day today 30th September 2023.

River Witham at Kirkstead Bridge, near Woodall Spa.

Site of a former swing bridge just along from the concrete replacement. The abandoned railway, now a cycle path runs alongside the river.

For anybody not in the know the 'Ragged Apron cafe' based in the former Railway hotel a short walk away towards Woodall Spa is a grear dog friendly cafe.
