  1. I've been using them for a couple of years now for bulk deliveries and received my first delivery of HVO back in September. Yes the quote button is just for bulk orders, for anything else it is best to either email or phone them. I've always found them very helpful, unlike most other suppliers. Keith
  2. https://hvofuels.co.uk/ Nationwide deliveries and they do 20 litre fuel box, 200 litre drums, 1000 litre IBC or bulk at 500+ litres Keith
  3. Indeed! They've made the cycle route a lot more comfortable though, apart from blocking it with those machines that is. Keith
  4. I can second that having used it to stop the windows leaking when raising a sunken narrow boat. Keith
  5. Someone I know asked me why I don't have a centre line, I said because I have no use for one, they replied ''how do you pull it into the side then?'' I said I don't 😉 Keith
  6. I have a pressure washer on board so this would present no problem for me and before you say it yes I can tie my boat to cleats without getting off. Keith
  7. Funny how so many people use the term woke when they haven't got a clue what it means. It means being aware, it means not going around being blind to injustice. Being awake! Keith
  8. It's available with red dye added or white as road fuel with the appropriate differences of duty. My boiler has a Riello pressure jet burner which I had problems in setting up after fitting it as a replacement and I had to call in an engineer at £90 an hour. 2 hours later and £180 lighter and he couldn't figure out what was wrong. I fixed it myself in the end when I discovered it was getting far too much air. I was using red diesel then but since changing to HVO I haven't had to make any adjustments. Keith
  9. As I have a separate 1000 litre tank for my boiler and generator I was able to fill up with HVO back in September at 0.78 ppl. The genny has been running sweetly for a minimum of 2 hours per day ever since and the boiler makes zero soot and no smell. ( I use DERV in the engine in case you are wondering )I didn't bother asking what the price of gasoil would be for comparison but I suspect that it would have been quite close to the 0.69 ppl that I paid back in April. Keith
  10. Very interesting Brian, thanks. Keith
  11. I have separate 240 volt Lleibherr fridge and freezers powered via a 2 kva Victron multiplus which also powers my TV etc. I can't imagine why anyone would consider installing a dedicated inverter for their fridge. Keith
  12. The Grand Junction was built to join the Oxford Canal at Braunston, the Napton and Warwick Canal ran from the Oxford Canal to Warwick where it joined the Warwick an Birmingham Canal. Upon amalgamation these ( except the Oxford ) became the Grand Union Canal, this name lifted from what is now known as the Leicester section. Keith Beat me to it. Keith
  13. There won't be any cars by then. Keith
  14. No it isn't debatable, it's fact and can be verified by reading Alan H. Faulkner's book ''The Grand Junction Canal''. Keith 14' to Berko 12'6'' to Brum. Keith
  15. As I've said before, the Grand Junction Canal was built for wide beam vessels. Keith
  16. That reads pretty anti to me, as does the title of this thread. Keith
  17. Update on 04/11/2021: Please be advised that our contractors are now on site working to repair the breach at Burghfield Weir. We will be working 7 days a week in order to restore water levels and open up navigation. The Environment Agency have installed pumps into Holly Brook ready to provide a flow of water into the brook if water levels subside, and are closely monitoring the situation. We will be publishing photos of the work as they progress to our twitter feed via the below link. https://twitter.com/CRTWalesandSW/status/1455912776203968516
  18. How would that be an issue ''that arose'' when narrow boat pairs had been doing the same on narrow canals for decades? The whole idea of towing a butty was defeating the object of a wideboat anyway. Keith
  19. There's also been a small cruiser stuck on that weir for at least the same amount of time and probably caused the build up of debris which in turn caused the small breach.
  20. One bridge hole doth not a waterway make. Keith
