  1. I think the conversion is "Admiral", it appears in 1960's films.
  2. Good question at present without a answer. MarkyP and myself looked into this extensively and there are no drawings except the never built wide "Royalty" type motor. That is the only clue other than photographs where glimpses may be obtained.
  3. I can assure you no drawings exist sadly. Also now no examples exist afloat. The photos are your best source of information and with pete's dimensions you should be OK. The Narrowboat edition is worth investing in.
  4. Are you talking about the stop lock at Tringford as I only know of one lock on the Wendover arm? Any pictures??
  5. It is Hillingdon council land, part of their "parks". CRT not involved (thank God).
  6. Gentlemen. You are diverting this thread away from its true purpose. HS2 is not buried here. There are a dozen or so recoverable "Josher" hulls all capable of restoration and conversion, several very interesting wide boats in need of some type of conservation and a few wooden narrow boats which may reveal some secrets. Please take the HS2 argument elsewhere and leave this thread with its core intact, thank you.
  7. From the album: THE SYSTEM IN BLUE

  8. They certainly have all gone however the one just west of the yard at mansion lane is worthy of note as the fore end is very upswept, its not a common type.
  9. Possibly the one from Newport or Wappenshall junction.
  10. In Pete Harrisons picture the top one on a chain is a hot brass stamped mini from a Dudley stampers sold as a gift widely on the waterways by CWS and its predecessors, still available today. The lower one is almost certainly one of my "Boatmans Cabin Co" GU windlass in LG2 gunmetal, The Selwyn Jordan mini shown in the picture by Max's son, were made in low quantities and these are rare.
  11. The first picture to me is the BCN, a view from the Tame Valley canal just along from Ocker Hill Jcn looking at Golds Hill with the associated chimneys of the many works and the Balls Hill branch being infilled at the time.
  12. I have a copy of this taken from late John Jinks collection and it is believed to be Longport in Stoke, the Mersey Weaver warehouses.
  13. I GOT: 抱歉,這個頁面無法取得 你點擊進來的連結可能已失效,或頁面可能已被移除 which means: "Sorry, this page can not come get you click on the link may be dead, or the page may have been removed"
  14. They are almost certainly painted by my ex wife Gill Hogg who sells to the trade under the name of Traditional Artmetal Co.
  15. The NLS webite has a fabulous selection of maps which can be varied over sattelite images: http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=52.2904&lon=-1.2087&layers=10&b=1 Use the slider to vary transparency, this is the best overlay I have ever come across.
  16. See the various maps on this site: http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=51.5861&lon=-0.4868&layers=10&b=1
  17. We stock the butty rudder and the GA drawings. Also beware of the plan in Walkers book as it is the prototype proposed boats which produced "Acturus" & "Neptune" as motors with "Sirius" & "Altair" as buttys. These motors differed slightly from the main production run.
  18. Lord knows why this has been merged, not all fireboats were "middle Northwich" boats.
  19. The top & bottom pictures shows the filming of"Inland Waterways", the second in the series is miscaptioned as its the Walsall canal where the M6 no crosses.
  20. This is a picture taken in Manchester of a AFS boat, date not known.
  21. Last time I looked there were eight between Sharpness and Purton. Two are very near Sharpness old dock.
  22. When I blasted the hull of "Tucana" in 2012 we discovered some of the MOWT livery still intact, The hull was battleship grey and what signwriting was left was red. This tallies with other MOWT vehicles etc. Here are some examples, two from London and one from the BCN of canal boats with pumps.
