  2. Jamboat

    Weather.

The windows one as in looking out of the window....... Sorry, couldn't resist
  3. Good news, it would have been a shame to give up the boat when you obviously love the canals, where there is a will there is usually a way
  4. I think Kris should go into politics, he's pretty good at never answering even direct questions
  5. I use pharmacy2u.co.uk, once set up they check with you what items needed when the prescription is due, get it electronically from the GP & send the medication on by post. I get it sent to a family member & either collect it when visiting or she sends it on "post Restante" easy peasy
  6. The person who's boat it was & Guy have tried to find it but no joy
  7. We have just had our boat in Portland Basin dry dock as we had a bent propeller & our stern gear is vetus, when the refurbished prop was replaced Guy (Portland chap) drilled through the shaft & put a split pin in, in addition to the cone shaped nut. In his opinion they come off too easily & to prove the point the day before we went in another boat lost their (vetus) propeller near the swing bridge, which is still there in the water somewhere I believe
  8. Done, worth it to get my "fix"
  9. We have been with craftinsure for 7 years, needed to claim last week for the first time, have to say they were great & we have received a settlement we are happy with, the excess is a bit steep at £300 but when we are only paying £154 pa it really isn't too bad.
  10. Absolutely agree, why should you go through the hassle of claiming off your insurance, they are just trying it on, send them some pics of the damage & a bill, if no joy take them to the small claims court.
  11. Everything is so simple in your world Rachel, you never seem to put a foot wrong! I happen to know Dean, I know how hard he has worked for his family. Circumstances are now making his life difficult but Dean is trying his best to sort it & flip comments from yourself really aren't helping.
  12. Fuel, coal & other boaters bits from Brian & Annmarie on nb Alton when in their area & same off Jon & Hannah, nb Mountbatten when on the Llangollen. Always try to support them if we can, they work hard in all weather & what a service, door to door
  13. It's at Turners Garage just through br19 on the off side, one of the cheapest spots on the system
  14. We had noisy neighbours, noisy street in fact ! 5 years as cc' s & love being able to moor in peaceful spots, we just untie the ropes & move on if it gets noisy
  15. Hannah & Jon have just filled our tank as they leave Grindley Brook, great to have a fuel boat on the Llangollen
  16. Deserving of a greenie but non left, well said.
  17. Turners would be good but we are heading towards Middlewich with a diversion to Nantwich, got half a tank so okay for a couple of weeks max, don't like it to get too low but resent paying top price when oil has dropped in price
  18. As the title really, we are leaving our winter mooring in Llangollen & pottering along towards the shroppie, will need a top up sometime in the next couple of weeks or so, any suggestions
  19. Erm... not having a home mooring makes us rule breakers ? We live aboard & cruise the system, never staying anywhere longer than a few days, what is your issue with that ? & fwiw I also wouldn't sign, C&RT are not landlords, we knew the deal when we bought our boat & if something prevented us from cc'ing we would take a mooring.
  20. Here in Wales we have rugby instead ......
  21. My OH has sporadic periods of lumbar pain & has just had a really bad one so have ordered one of these, just hope I can get him to wear it when lifting coal, cassettes, gas bottles & doing locks........
