  1. Indeed - it's just given the size of the boat (although we don't know it it's fully fitted) it could be 30 ton so as you've already said, that narrows it down a bit
  2. Alternatively you could get a mobile crane unit and put it in at any yard that will allow you to use their wharf for such things.
  3. If you have a couple of weeks then you could explore various places really - have a look at http://www.canalholidays.co.uk/canal-holidays/longer-canal-holidays as this shows some of the routes you can take starting from Leighton Buzzard (East Midlands).
  4. You could also try AB Tuckeys, not in Peterborough or Scotland but it doesn't really matter as the round trip would be the same for most hauliers. 01926 812134

    EE bill

I also had this with EE. I used their online chat system and "spoke" to am operator who was helpful. They blocked the premium rate service and said they would instruct the company to contact me within 5 days. This didn't happen so EE gave me a £10 credit (I was owed £25 by this point as hadn't checked the bill for a few months) and said they would contact the company again. I then went on holiday and forgot about it but I may have another go at retrieving the other £15. Suggest anyone on EE have a look at their bills as this is commonplace on EE.
  6. Harefield Marina has a small one (GRP only)
  7. Getting ahead of the game for 2040, all electric narrowboats
  8. True - although let's not rule out electric drone delivery as the norm by then.
  9. A canoe going past. Somehow they seem to cause a disproportionate amount of rocking
  10. Not sure if it's been said already but regarding moving goods, in 30 years time we probably won't move very much by road/rail other than food and clothing. 3D printers will be commonplace and pretty much all media will be digitally transmitted.
  11. It's not terribly urban, especially once past Milton Keynes, but even that has a vast amount of green space, plus from Leighton Buzzard to Bletchley is mostly countryside. As has been said, if you go north you can at least stop at the bottom of Stoke Bruerne and take a boat trip through the tunnel. We have done this journey many times and I think it would be less stressful and more relaxed than going South which may feel like endless locks.
  12. I think I would try 19v first and see if that's enough for it. Make sure polarity is correct though.
  13. How about this one then http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-66410747.html

  18. Are you using Speedtest.net or similar to determine the speeds? It might be worth doing that and moving the unit around and comparing the results. Since the MiFi has a battery you could even walk around the marina with it to see what the speeds are.

  20. Victron do one for £1150 (1600w). Would that be any better do you think? https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-EasySolar-1600VA-EN.pdf
  21. I have been looking at the Volt Polska range and also wondering if they are good quality. Edit: the 12v ones only go up to 700w.
  22. When in a hire boat you always have right of way at a bridge regardless of who was there first. You also can pass on whichever side takes your fancy, no need to alert oncoming boat as to which side.
  23. Our boat was up for £35k and we took a gamble (based on 1 year old survey) and got it for £29,000. 4 Years later we had a survey and the measurements were the same as the one we saw at the brokers, so for us it paid off.
  24. Thanks Alan The reason for the thread is that a friend thinks it is Winkwell but we couldn't find a similar picture c/o Google Images to confirm. Thanks David
  25. Can anyone please identify the bridge on the cover of this month's Canal Boat magazine? Thank you.
