  1. So, the profit of the sales of painted boats goes to the production then? These films are essentially free of cost and the continuance of copyright is solely to make money, not to pay for these or other films. As for your statement about Pathe and the ridiculous cost of these films that mean they remain the preserve of a few privileged or as fluff on a corporate content-free promo video, it seems strange you don't see the contradiction in your words The people who copy and freely distribute this stuff have my full support. Information should and will always be made freely available to all and this action is ultimately futile.

  2. If you're that far out of your depth, then get a professional to deal with the problem. If you ask for advice over the internet you're not going to get a definitive answer. You are definitely not going to an accurate diagnosis. And worst of all, you're going to get some suggestions that may point you towards doing something that causes even more damage.

  3. I was going to say "He tells you that his engine isn't working properly" but that would be construed as offensive, so I shan't. Bob18, I too am a non-technical dipstick when it comes to the workings of an engine, but your instructions are a model of logic and clarity - I think that even I would stand a chance of following them!

  7. As I have only run out of fuel once after someone helped themselves to a majority of it and the tank was clean, can someone please explain how when the tank starts to get empty you start to suck up water and crap that may be in the tank. Surly if this was up to the level of the dip tube you would be drawing it in all the time as the diesel is on top of it and it its below the dip tube how does it suddenly increase in volume to reach the dip tube when the diesel is low? Mystified in Lowestoft

  9. Good question, I have lived quite a transient life to date and have friends who move all over the world. I think it's all down to attitude really, I go for months without seeing my best friend (other than Charlotte) but our friendship has the strength to ignore the time scale. it's always as if it's only been yesterday that we have seen each other. My Italian friends I see but once a year and again, it's like we have never spent time apart (except for more grey hairs) and my London buddies can't keep away from the boat! And strangers? they are just friends that we haven't met yet.... (P.S) just about to send you a PM, have been using a touch screen to type of late and it's slowing me down!)

  10. No, why would they be. Colregs allows them to make different rules, and they have made different rules. Any claim that the accident was caused because somebody assumed that Colregs applied would be bound to fail, because anybody who claimed to know colregs should also know that they are subordinate to local rules.
