Northern softies. Yesterday after being in hospital overnight I walked 3/4 mile home in falling snow despite not having my woolly hat with me. OK, in my current medical condition my ability to walk is not a long way below normal, and my body was well wrapped up, but it was character building.

I am pleased they made this decision in good time to let folks know. I was looking forward to going and had all sorts of things to exchange with all sorts of other people who were planning on being there from all sorts of places around the country and we have all been watching the forecast nervously wondering whether to travel or not.

It looks like I will have to keep custody of that consignment of malt whisky that I was due place with CWDF transport services for forward travel a little longer

When I was on the (then) NBOC Committee we didn't cancel AGMs, we looked for the bright side in everything!

Today's News comments that "disruption at airports, motorways and train stations" is rife.  How spiffing that the canals must be totally clear and the only method of transport not reported on as failed!  I'd have expected The Hnbc owners old boat club for historic owners would be urging their narrow members to be ripping off their conversions and reporting to load of old Bulls Bridge to await orders.
