Big Woolwich Motor named after the town of Rail.

An imaginative construction extending the canvas sides along the cabin and demonstrating a short lived innovation, namely a perspex stove flue which never caught. Which actually was its downfall, because it did every time.

Due to the anticipated Canal Cavalcade desire to tie on from the stern in Brownings Pool you'll note these boats were built with a flat counter.

Am I missing something? It's called Hadley.

It has at various times been named....

Hadley (Its original GUCCCo name)

Rail (Its renaming to a water bird, when in Willow Wren service)

and even

Hadley Rail (Thereby keeping all options open)

Don't think I'll be going with "Letchworth Flamingo" though!

THanks for the explanation.

If it travels around many of the nation's canals I suppose it will be renamed Network Rail.

It might also be prevented from getting somewhere by stoppages, so you have to take alternative forms of transport.

Like a rail replacement bus

Going like a train up the top planks of Rail in 1983 to breast up Atalanta tied up butty to t stud. On return ( down top planks of butty) Glen informed me I had missed the 2 foot section of missing top plank behind the mast, he had forgotten to mention..

(Sorry boats were clothed up at time)
