If you need supplies once you get past South Wigston heading for Foxton, there are plenty of shops in Fleckney. Moor up near bridge 73. Ignore the fading graffiti, the culprit is long gone (the locals ate him...), walk across the old ridge and furrow field on the bridleway to the end, turn right, right again at the mini roundabout, fifty yards and you're there. The Co-op is open until 10pm too.

 

And there are two pubs, despite what the guides say. The missing one, the Golden Shield on Main Street, has six real ales and does nice food.

How far south are you heading Ally? We are in Market Harborough at the moment.

There is a good Fish and chip shop in Market Harborough down the hill and on the left

That was removed about 2 years ago - although the local IWA rep stills insists it is there.

We did pass the site of the now removed water point and didn't see it. I may now have the reason why.

Spoke to Ally and partner at length during the past week or so. I have to say what a nice couple they are. As I suppose a number of people on here know already.
