  4. Hi all just out of interest how do you keep your generators safe and stop them growing legs and walking off I’m interested as I am on a forum to do with garages and people on there was asking how to stop equipment been nicked like generators graham

  7. As you say there are lots of wide beam boats in Hull marina but what my mate described it was a steel wide beam boat that looked like a narrow beam with a pram hood and a cratch fitted

  12. Glad you managed to do it it’s always good to do job for yous self yes the. Modern welders are fantastic to the old type pulse welders are brilliant to use especially on aluminium Graham

  14. Sounds like you are up for it strike the rod and push it into the metal don’t let it burn away from the metals where are you ? I may have bean able to come and help if you wanted it 👍
  15. I am a welder . The most important thing is to make sure the metal is very clean where the welds are going and where the earth return clamps on the metal as above disconnect all battery’s etc face masks , auto ones are good if you buy a decent make have fun and don’t forget to get some welding gauntlet Graham

  18. I’m glad you found the problem I was going to suggest the stays that hold the covers up when you open them . we was on a abc boat two weeks ago and the stays where rattling like mad Graham

  20. I can’t say as I don’t know if there live aboard or not but a tin of paint and a brush would improve things if liveraboard I’m NOT getting at anyone just saying what we have seen Graham

We have just got back from our two weeks holidays on the K&A The weather has been kind to us most of the time and we had a good time We did have mixed feelings about this canal. it has very beautiful scenery. Hungerford,Devizes and Newbury were nice places to look around especially the cain locks but it was hard to find moorings . there seems to be a lot of rough looking boats that look as if they are just dumped Graham

  23. Hi all well on Tuesday I said three days To go well due to me daughter getting rushed into hospital for a night we are going to the boat tomorrow instead. My daughter is a lot better so only two days missed of the holidays ?? graham
