In case you have missed the announcement, the website will be unavailable on Monday 18th May 2015 at 10:30am until approx. 12 midday, for essential site maintenance. This is to reload the site software and do an incremental upgrade to the version of software running and some other clean up tasks.

 

The website should be up and running by 12 midday.

The site maintenance/update was mostly successful, there is one feature which isn't quite working - forum member's avatars, I am working on this now.

 

The Gallery and Member's Map will be upgraded too, and should be online later in the day.

They are not the only images missing.

 

The forum logo is not showing either.

It has just loaded quickly for me, yes.

Regarding avatars, I can see my own but no one else's.

Yes it's fine now, cheers.

 

Jury still out on VNC though, still hit and miss for me at least.

Regarding the avatars, I've passed this one on to software support and I believe they are actively working on it. The gallery is gradually coming back but there's about 1.5GB of data to transfer here, so will be a while. View New Content speed - I'll wait until the bulk of the other work is done and re-run my responsiveness analyser to see if there's any changes or changes in the trend here. It might be that the server is a bit slower than optimal because everyone's cache may reload if it 'thinks' a file is new, because the server 'thinks' the file is new, because it is new to it today, even though it was the same as the file that was there the previous day. Hope it makes sense?

Good work.

I agree. Not sure what's going on, but good work.

 

When I search for the site I get a very abbreviated non colour with the word forums. You click on that word.

Same here, and no improvement on "New Content" loading Time, if anything it is worse!

On a related topic (possibly), in a fit of insomnia I tried to use the site at 3.30am today. The VNC page was the slowest I've ever seen it. The site was totally unusable.

 

Back to normal speeds now for me though.

I'm seeing a few of your Avatars (e,g, Athy), but the majority are not showing.

 

(Full PC version).

 

No improvements on "view new content".

The site is backed up once per day, in the early hours of the morning, and that is the reason for the extra slow function at this time.

Lots of avatars still missing this morning.

 

I have removed and then re uploaded mine and I can see it once again, but don't know if anybody else can!

 

Ed ~ should have added VNC is still a PITA but posts do seem to be appearing much faster with little or no lag between clicking on 'post' and it then appearing.
