Where to moor in Blackburn

The only secure spot is u der the canopy of the warehouse, whose name escapes me at present. It has gates at each end. You may have to breast up.

Otherwise it is out of town.

Yes eanam wharf should be ok. Very handy for the town as well as asda and B&Q as well as screwfix. Blackburn has improved over what it used to be but the town is undergoing a massive regeneration and although a lot is done there is still a fair way to go. The market is done but around the railway station is still in progress. If you need shopping there are many places next to the canal like asda, morrisons & tesco.

Past the town centre close your eyes when you pass the local wallpaper factory, they have wallpapered the canal bridge

Yes eanam wharf is fine. Easy walking to Morrisons and town centre shops.

If you don't want to be close to shops then about 20 - 30 mins cruising past eanam is nice stretch of open countryside seems popular place to moor up for few days

I hope Eanam Wharf is safe...we shall be there in July at their 3rd only annual Boat Festival..............

We spent an afternoon tied to the rings outside the pub, between the warehouse canopy and the bridge.

Went into town for some shopping, found that a passing boat had pulled one of the rings out. It was simply bolted through one of the paving flags, and these were lightweight 'patio style' flags, not the serious heavy duty 'council type'. Luckily the flag was still sitting there on the bank with our rope attached. With a bit of luck some more secure arrangements will have been made by now, but if you do tie up there it might be worth checking.

No, we ate the Cumberland sausage sandwiches bought in Skipton sitting at a wooden pub garden style bench on the wharf.

Bet those sandwiches had curled up by the time you got to Blackburn from skipton

Moor at Feniscowles, lovely safe rural spot, then spend the day passing through Blackburn and pausing to take in the sights then spend the next night moored up in Rishton. Blackburn has loads to offer and well worth some time. Eanam wharf is handy for a stroll into town. Don't miss the cathedral.
