Lost dog GU church lock

Really sorry to hear this. Our oldest dog died during our last boating trip a few weeks ago, we had her 15 years.

We all know how you feel right now, there's a quote somewhere about having a dog gives you profound joy the price of which is, one day, profound sadness.

Also saw this sad post on farce book.

Earlier this year also on a trip out, we lost our little boy of 15 years to long term illness.

Nothing can be said to make you feel any different to the despair your feeling now.

On my posting in July Daiboy (8 hairy feet)posted a lovely poem, although dealing with ill health, we keep with timmys ashes

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then will you do what must be done,

For this----the last battle can't be won,

You will be sad I understand,

But don't let grief then stay your hand,

For on this day more than the rest,

Your love and friendship must stand the test,

We have had so many happy years,

You wouldn't want me to suffer so,

When the time comes, please let me go,

Take me to where my needs they'll tend,

Only stay with me till the end,

And hold me firm and speak to me,

Until my eyes no longer see,

I know in time you will agree

It is a kindness you do for me,

Although my tail its last has waved

From pain and suffering I have been saved

Don't grieve that it must be you

Who has to decide this thing to do:

We've been close --- we two--these years

Don't let your heart hold any tears

Run free Taz, Minty, Timmy and all our 4 legged best freinds

So sorry, our thoughts are with you

Col and sharon

Thank you for reposting this Col, I hadn't seen it before.

I had to have my beloved friend euthanized a few months back and it still breaks my heart, even though I know it was the right thing to do.

My condolences to Jon - it's tough losing a member of the family.
