  1. Hi Tony it seems as tho it can come down about 2/3 inches plus the engine bottom will just fit in between, but soninlaws coming back over at the weekend just to check on your comment. thanks very much on the mounting shown, there’s a big nut and smaller nut, just thinking what if I take out the thicker nut. theres still locking nuts there ? Lol
  2. One last pop at this engine with my new knee op last week, I’m relying on others to look at the situation my son-in-law came over and had a look, and took the 2 photos it shows that the sump tank is not on the floor but nearly touching a cross member so if this was cut down 3 inches eg and the beams where mountings would go get cut down just to lower where the mountings will go 1) if the gearbox flange married up to the prophaft flange, would that be it,? nothing has to go in the space in photo, ? ideal world engine just slid up to meet prop-shaft flange. 2) looking at engine mountings, the current height is 5.9 cm but looking arround at other mounting sites there’s low profile ones available is there a reason I can’t use these instead? i looked at these again I so Thankyou all for your help and post http://www.randdmarine.co.uk/enginemres.asp or http://www.randdmarine.co.uk/enginemres.asp
  3. Hi Sam it was too much, and after all that problem with the oil sump, yes please feel free to have a pee lol regards to the gear box, I’m not sure what we’re on about here lol col
  4. It’s too much im going to place the engine up for sale today. its a pity but it’s not going to fit our boat. so if anyone wants a gentleman’s deal this is going to be nice engine to buy. its a green line 90hp was originally a keel cooled, but had over a £1000 kit supplied by beta to make it raw water cooled so easily converted back invoices are here to view. the engine is 8 years old, and has only done 400 hrs, it has all the loom and luxury panel i will look and wait for the engine that it was currently made for ive given up
  5. I’m thinking of purchasing compressed engine mountings with this combined with the flexible coupling I think we could be there. fingers crossed what is the most degrees that these couplings work to anybody.? many thanks for your tips and advice. Ps I do have a water stern gland. its been suggested I should have a anti thrust bearing as well, as I have the engine being measured up to fit this installation. This afternoon thanks col
  6. I see what you mean, I unable to get down their, so relying on mates etc. but if the thread inside the mounts can be reduced I think that could get me in the right direction! Still might not come to that fingers crossed but another good idea! theres a good 4 inches below oil pan and bottom of boat
  7. I will have a look tomorrow, all I know its8 years old but only done 440hrs, bought through a member of this forum. Got a large 4 bladed prop

  9. Yes your right engine was just dropped in. it hasn’t been centralised. the mounts are quite tall There is some more pics, but will try and make them smaller and yes I agree that the easiest way would be to drop the engine down, but talking to welders it will always be a job and a half lol i can’t see it be a major properly, but wish someone would do it while I’m laid up. i hate it when all you hear is problems, solutions is what we wasn’t to hear
  10. Please see photo im relying on others at the moment, as just had a knee replacement last week, and if you had one you know what I’m going through. Pain and more pain. whilst I was away the engine beta 90 which came to me via the forum was placed in position as you can see it fits, but too high to conect to driveshaft. somone says you can buy a flexible coupling, is this wishful thinking. i hope I can find somthing if not the engines got to come out again any sugestions, or is it engine out and lower mountings, slimline mountings?
  11. Brillient and learning post thankyou col
  12. I imagine that my 12v lead of didn’t help, but certainly the sellers were no help, and 4 battery’s going down causing problems with their voltages also the lack of help from the seller, I gave up on them. would I buy closed cell battery’s again. NO would I buy the Hankooks again again NO COL
  13. Defiantly not, lol went down the step down converter, it’s been great ever since. bought 2 x new Varta batteries, open cell. no problems since col
  14. All 4 of mine I had a problem with. they were wired up as 24v. but one the the battery’s must of gone open circuit as it gassed the engine room causing all copper to turn silver. this may have been cause by one of the battery’s being used to give 12v. but it happened, and being closed units couldn’t investigate further. the forum helped me out, the battery’s were under 12months old. will only get open cell battery’s from now on. hankook tyres are great, I went for the brand because known to be good quality. col

    Brexit 2019

Most Politicians are corrupt, proof is in their expenses and what they claim for. i don’t think for one minute that 1000s of Brexit bolting forms weren't lost burnt disposed of, and if you think not, then you are more gullible than the powers to be are corrupt. look at today’s interest the Grenville tower inferno 2 years ago. wheres the money re the uks fund raising, millions, where wheres the millions that was promised to the survivors ‘they needed help, housing, and money within these last 2 years. but they may be waiting for it till their own funerals. just look at the TV licence!!! The week we honour, remember all our old folk, veterans, and people killed on D-Day, 75years same week government has stolen and Robbing massive chunks of money from the elderly, survivors. seriousley couldn’t make it up. if they don’t pay they will go to prison where the inmates and now them watch tv for free. awfull spelling, punctuation rant over!!!!!
