Slow Cookers- howmuch electricity do they use?

I used to have a proper "Bedwarmer"...Can't remember who made it, but that had a 25 watt bulb inside as a heating element and it used to work very well!......I think your "bizzard idea" was on the right lines you were just a bit over enthusiastic with the power!

So all off those that have ordered a MrD's cooker what do you think off it.

I like using my slow cooker but like the sound off it where I don't have to use electricity.

I like cooking gadgets, I've got

A Unni Pizza oven

And a Cobb.

Both are great, especially the pizza oven.

For a no-power slow cooker equivalent in the winter, buy yourself a cast iron casserole dish and stick it on top of the stove. Works brilliantly, consumes zero electricity, and makes use of something you're most probably already using to keep your boat warm.

This is, above everything else, why I love my Rayburn.
