Cheapest solid fuel stove for a person on a tight budget

I'm asking on behalf of a mate. Her stove is wearing out and needs replacing. The flu pipe will need replacing too because its been repaired but won't last much longer.

What are the cheapest available stoves which will burn coal as well.

The boat is in the Black Country so a local supplier would be best but otherwise maybe mail order may be the way to go.

Brand new ones are available on e bay for less that £200. I bid for a new one and got it for £165. Only had it 2 years but no problems so far. I did buy a sheet of vermiculite and made my own fire bricks which keeps the worst of the heat from direct contact with the iron sides.

The Clarke ones from Machine Mart are a bargain just check the diameter of the flue aren't quite the same as some regular sizes used on boats (from experience). In all fairness to the much maligned Midland Chandlers, I was in there quite recently and a couple of stoves there were good value, better still next time they have a freaky Friday when they knock 20%off so have a look and the sales&wanted on here, I've missed many a bargain by not keeping my eye on that one too.
