  1. i lost the will to keep reading the thread as it kept going wildly off topic................ have crt blocked the marina yet?? are they going to?? if not why not??
  2. iv been after 3 x head gaskets and 3 x sets of rings so i took it upon myself to have a ring round for some prices.....i really wanted genuine parts and some advice on a starter motor....prices came in at £220/£360 i found our local lister petter main agent as a long shot..i was shocked at the £200 quoted and they had them in stock..so iv gone for the genuine stuff and iv bought another 3 sets of each for the future.........i think the moral of the story here is dont just go for the big name remanufactuors of lister engine and part suppliers..sometimes a main agent is the cheapest and closest option!!!
  3. spill the beans tim, what have you got planned
  4. iv worked and lived in loads of rough areas, generaly when i start teaching class's and my own dogs the scum seem to find somewere else to play...
  5. needs a box...prm260 £1400.......electric start, flywheel, starter, bell housing if you can find one and if you can find someone that will sell it you..adapter made to take the gearbox...variable throttle...so after a load of hasstle youll only ever have a coverted industrial engine.and it looked smokey in the video....so the answer is yes and it can be done cheaply if youve got the tackle to make all the bits yourself...if youve got to start farming jobs out its going to cost big money...................................

    jp2 starting

yes electric start is easily attcheavable............just a matter of cost........there are a few firms that can supply the relevent parts........marine power services probably the place to start............and youll need a fairly handy mechanic to fit the parts
  7. its the one off it but i did think it was a little high ....
  8. how about you all get get back to the thread instead of ruining it by all the personal rubbish............either take it to PM or start a new thread ...ya bunch of big girls!!!!!
  9. go scrap yard and get some sound insulation off a bonnet
  10. rachet straps................takes all the talent out of pulling your boat to the side...........i like em
  11. its only because i havent got the cash to bid you at it...
  12. you could always just sell it on at an inflated price??? sorry onion couldnt help myself
  13. no alan no no no no no...£19.99 for a 1kg....if its not from a boat yard YOU WILL DIE!!!!!! i hope your not going to be one of these independant thinkers????
  14. we are in ressesion people havent been buying boats and fat boat yard owners need to keep the £££ rolling in....surveyor wont argue to much with a yard as it would be cutting there own throats....did you know you never need set foot on a narrow boat or indeed know what one is...pay your £££ sit the "i want to be a surveyor coarse" which is geared for you to pass (just like the gas ticket) and away you go another prat in a hat surveyor just dieing to be groomed and fondled by a needy boat yard.....and so it goes on and on and on and to top it off as the genuine sensible dinosaur sureyors die off the industry is filled by the new breed................................................................................................................................................. over plating................... if you boat is down the 3mm you are going to DIE!!!!!!!!!!! oh hold on a minute...springers were made out of 3mm and most of em are still floating pitting .........if your boat has any mirror blemish in the blacking youve guessed it ..your gunna die!!! 1 kg fire extinguashers...boat yards sell loads because trade there cheap and they can stuff a load of fat profit into you...have a fire on your boat..your going to die because they are to small to do anything but irratate a mild smoldering in a damp box of matches.. its a crazy world being a punter.......
  15. clever........................i dont understand how lister have always made most exellent engines and then the alfa if its the older engine the pistons arnt availible anymore..you can get hold of the later ones that require the spray bar
  16. we had one do this years ago, think we had to send the block off to be line bored...............
  17. heres a few pics of the fly wheel and engine...the oil pressure gauge looked very rough the plastic lense was touching the indicator hand and was covered in paint....the last pic is of the other jp which has some interesting parts fitted....
  18. iv got first hand expierience with cris..i engineered for them many years ago.....promised the earth but sometimes seemed to deliver next to nothing...hes supposodly from a static caravan back ground and it showed..i still look after a few scouse skips that came from him and there bloody awful in my personal opinion...one boat in perticular had to be replated after two years. we dont know why but some people are saying it was because they earthed the hull on the dc side. cris spoke the old chap into saying nothing <snipped text>........if you read this and want to call me a lier please do... edited after some advise
  19. me again!! my lister jp has a marine type fly wheel...the ring gear isnt shrunk onto the fly wheel it looks like its been made and then bolted to the fly wheel...it looks like this picture stolen from marine power services (sorry) can i get a modern 12v starter motor and a mount for the starter easily?? if so were from........promt from tim....my engine is industrial and the flywheel is at the oposit end to this one
  20. my jp industrial has a twin chamber fuel filter with a hot water feed running through it......how im going to install the engine im going to end up the the decompressors and exhaust running down the side i will be walking past the the filter will be on the side you wont be able to see easily.......so athetics dont really come into it.....am i better off using a modern filter such as something like off a landrover tdi rather than the original filter???
  21. you really arnt getting into this now are ya!!! dont think your sopposed to agree.. ah i get what ya upto now...your playing the reverse troll game arnt ya.......
