4 counties ring parking

We are hoping to do the 4 counties ring starting at Nantwich and going clockwise.

Friends are joining us for the last few days possibly south of Great Haywood on the Staffs and Worcs does anyone know possible parking places near the canal either free or reasonably priced for them

I’ve noticed people who don’t give a care park on the bridge outside the marina/farm shop at Great Haywood.

 

I’m sure if you had a pint in the Clifford Arms at Great Haywood they’d be ok with you leaving a car for a few days.

But don’t dump the car in the village there are some proper little Hitlers keeping an eye out. 
 

Rugeley with train stations and lots of back streets might be good ? 🤷‍♀️

There is plenty of on street parking in Penkridge. 

You could ask at the pub (Cross Keys? at Filance, if it is still going.

 

Might be worth asking Teddesley boats, Otherton marina or Calf Heath marina but I expect they will want paying.

I have left a car on Main Road in front of the church a couple of times, with no problems. A short walk down Trent Lane to the canal.

We met friends at Penkridge a few years ago. The Boat Inn were happy to have them leave their car in their car park for a week, free of charge after we had a meal and a few beers there.

Thanks to everyone who has replied.

Looks like we will be changing our route because of the lock closure at 57

Probably go anticlockwise now and see what happens next week
