Is there a date for this image ?

The caption only states turn of the century.

I would suggest said 'turn' was between 1899 to 1900. They are all horse boats and the dress of the men and the way the materials are stacked would confirm this as so.

The way the system's going, it's a time traveller's picture from 2099.

Reckon we'll last that long?

I wonder what John Rennie would say about the road and owing to space constrictions a modern road would need to be wider and no doubt destroy ancient woodland and then the urban terrorists would crawl out their caves and glue themselves to a tree,

Great stuff. I walk my dogs down that railway route most days through Alton. Glad to say the railway track was not turned into a road. Consall is still fairly isolated.

We probably recently met then as we've just had a week in Alton Station, owned by the Landmark trust.

I can't think of anything worse than the line being turned into a road.

Have you ever found the Cricketers Arms at Oakamoor open? We didn't.

Never been in there. The station at Alton is cute. :)
