  1. If the bottom one ,shown in your sketch, is a waterlock you need it as by'eck says. You will end up with water in your engine without it at some point, most probably when engine does not fire up. If it is a vetus waterlock, have a look.at the price of it and then you wont want to chuck it...
  2. I would mess about on a photo editing proggy like paint.net (its free, small and works). You can mess about with fonts, size ,colour etc until you get it spot on.
  3. Are the pipes proper ones- ie sanitation hoses or just really old by any chance?

I will just say f**k then, cos suns out,im on my boat and its got to be heaven :-D
  5. If you have no other problems with the stove then I would agree with cheshire rose.Fill it,leave it and see.But If you have any problems with your flue, collar etc now is the time to take it out ...
  6. I did. Maybe the wrong bit but thank you for taking the time to point my error out.I would not have bothered myself.
  7. Looking at that pic, cant believe the boat didnt sink. Very lucky-though bet he didnt feel it at the time.
  8. Tree, I would see how long one of those rechargeables last if I was you. I did have one, it gave out a great light but not for long.. (presuming it is one of those huge spotlight jobbies?)
  9. Should be fine. Spoke to the man in the Avtec tech department about using an amperor voltage regulator. He got a bit huffy and told me it was a waste of time as the Avtex are made for this sort of application. Give them a ring if you are a bit nervy about it. Its the low voltage that kills them (cheap tvs) I think.I have fitted two to a customers boat. They run off the 240 supply when on shore or genny power.I have then fitted the power supplies with a 12v relay off the 12v supply so soon as the 240 is disconnected the tvs then switch over to the 12v supply. Automatic, foolproof and very cheap to do! The boat does not have an inverter though... If you do this in a tea chest and stick your head in, you get surround sound too..
  10. The Avtex are, as you say dear, but have a very good voltage regulator built in to them. They are made for 12v electrical systems ,with all their voltage ups and downs, and so do not require a 12v regulator like the amperor or similar fitting (as cheaper TVs do/should). Yes and I know they do work fine without one (usually-until they dont :-0)
  11. Should really have a vent. what sort of loo have you got? you could leave the rinse out cap off-you would have a vent then (assuming it does only go to the top of the tank of course...)
  12. What an amazing sight though. I really wish had of made it there. Thanks go out to all the boat crews who made it possible, (particulary the nb's) :-)
  13. Sometimes I can smell the fumes from my stove. It doesnt leak at all, its just the way the wind sometimes blows the fumes down and back into the boat through any openings ie vents, windows, doors. I dont know if this may be your case, presuming it is the exhaust you can smell ? You really shouldnt being able to smell gas though so would recommend that you have your system properly pressure tested. If its that tiny a leak explain that to your tester and ask to have the pressure gauge left on for a longer time.
  14. Probably a bit late in replying but if you do end up having to overplate (much cheaper and practical if you have any sort of budget) the weld has to be spot on anyway. If you have water getting between the old and new plate and the old is rotted through where do you think that water will end up?
  15. Speedy fotos there trampyjoe 10/10 !
  16. Hopefully it turns out to be more precautionary than neccessary then.
  17. Just see last part of the report on the local news-that it is being evucuated due to flooding.Guessing that is the caravan site? hope all is well for fellow boaters (and caravanners too) there
  18. 10mm is slightly bigger than 3/8 (9.5mm) and some do use it but you really shouldnt mix it....
  19. Yep-unless you are a penguin.. I have a Little Wenlock with back boiler which heats three rads on my fifty footer.Keeps boat comfy all winter. Never had more than a single duvet on all winter and I never wear pyjamas :-)
  20. Ive only got one too and me hot water hasnt been working long either .Is the pump something like a Shurflo then? ie its a diaphragm type pump and not an impellor type? Has it ever worked properly?
  21. Possibly. Its good place to start anyhow. Do you get a good flow from any of the cold taps?
  22. Hope it works for you because your replacement options are- Expensive or Very Expensive
  23. Maybe in need of a service or repair? If it is not staying on long enough to shower could it be either overheating due to a lack of water flow or shutting down due to lack of water pressure?
  24. It works like an alarm. Boiler overheats.Shut off flow.Loads of banging to alert you of a problem
