    It's not just engine vibration that lining materials have to cope to cope with - metal boats in particular flex and expand with changes in temperature too, and not just seasonal changes through the year but through the day the sun (on the rare occasions it appears) might be on one side during the morning and the other side later in the day. LCx

    From Facebook: "our boat may be heading to Atherstone locks, we are on our way, please keep an eye out and if you see a lock keeper could you inform him. We will be there in 20mins approx, thanks all so much!" This was 45 mins ago, presumably heading south.

    Agreed, it would be respectful if folk might hold back from speculation so soon after the event. My condolences to family and friends. There is a post on facebook about this incident, https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=155048044920413&id=100012456557323 the poster, who was friends with the victim, has said that anyone wishing more information should contact him.

    I think you can if you use something like Seagate Goflex (but I think this is no longer available) or a wireless hard drive, or using the lightning connector - in any event, 'ifile' needs to be downloaded onto the ipad.

    Another option that might provide some additional flexibility would be to get a portable USB hard drive - you can get a Seagate 2TB drive for about £60 ? LCx

    Mr Athy, you may have already done this but can you check how much messenger storage space you have? (there a bar on the left hand side of the screen when you fully open your PM system). If it's full, you'll have to delete some messages to enable you to receive new ones - if it's showing plenty of space, please let us know and we'll look into what needs doing to fix it. LCx
