Glasson Dock is is a long way from the Mersey,think you mean a pilot from Eastham Lock (on the MSC) to Brunswick Lock at Liverpool

If you have the E Canal app on your phone it shows you the Lat and Long and also the OS grid ref as well as the bridge numbers lock names etc a very handy thing to have in this sort of situation.I think

I bought two wheelbarrow wheels the other day for £9 each handy for mooring on the Shroppie shelf.

Hope they have sorted out plenty of moorings there for the rally later this month think about 50 boats going.

Why do people moor 2 rings before the end of VM and then leave another 2 between the next boat as well..?

Yes you can do the River in one day with no problems,all the locks are manned as well to make life easy for you.

Think you will find the narrow section on the S & W just before Autherley Junction is quite bad ,not very good if you meet a boat coming the other way.

The boat that ran the water bus service now runs as a 12 seat trip boat in Leeds, as Apollo Canal Cruisers that ran the water bus no longer operate.
