We had a rat on Fulbourne a few years ago - it was a f*****g nightmare to get rid of, didn't help that it was during the winter when we weren't on board much. Fulbourne is a fairly basic boat but it ate its wat through the boat, including into thef ridge!. It eventually succumbed to a trap set in a kitchen draw. Tim

Our experiences were similar, we used to regularly paint the baseplate of Fulbourne and were always pleasantly pleased at the amount of paint still remaining after up to four years of hard boating (and believe me at 3 feet draught we go aground a lot!) Tim -

The Princess Royal is Patron of the London Canal Museum and I have always been impressed with the interest she shows when she visits us - she has a particular interest in the Thames & Severn canal restoration, it being closest canal to her country pile! Tim
