  1. I might have been interested my self but im not 100% sure ill get it through the bottom lock on the Llangollen, it can be a bit tight at the best of times
  2. Not sure if anyone has posted this already but there you go http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170555567869&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=170555567869&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1&ref=nf
  3. The clicks are quite loud. Its the same clicking as when you have a low battery but it only happens once on each turn of the key rather than a rapid low voltage clicking (i think that makes sence)
  4. Cant remember the name of my first lock but we picked the boat up from March in cambridge and headed up the Nene towards Shropshire. Crew of 3 and none of us have ever been on a boat before. Best 2 weeks of my life bringing the boat home Anyone know what lock was my first then?
  5. Thanks Allan, I think ill leave myself 2 hours and have a cup of tea at the top lock before we start
  6. What the title says We are currently moored around Ellesmere but on Saturday we will heading upto Frankton Lock so we can get on the Monty and settle in at our new permanent by the Navigation Inn. It’s been a while since I travelled to or from Ellesmere to Frankton Lock so can anyone give me an idea of how long it might take. I think passage is from 12 till 2 at the lock and I’m booking my place tomorrow. I’m starting to relax already after 2 years of continuous cruising, getting ready for the quiet life on the Monty Justin
  7. Many thanks guys, ill whip the whole starter off i think and drive upto Viking as i live in Shrewsbury so its not too far.
  8. Thanks for your reply. How do i recognise my solenoid? justin
  9. As above. Ive got a bit of a sticky starter, 3 or 4 clicks before its turns the engine. If anyone has 1 for sale please let me know or if you know anywhere near the Montgomery Canal that refurbs? Justin
  10. hi. what part of Shrewsbury ?. BOB.

  11. Interesting stuff Alan especially the tax on tax! I would never have thought that propelling a forklift attracted a different tax than propelling a boat. Does the Government provide a list anywhere of different tax brackets for each vehicle? i.e. 5% for a tractor, 10% for a boat, 7% for a forklift? It all seems a little unfair that boats have been singled out from other non road forms of transportation to be targeted for increased taxes.
  12. I wasnt aware of that. I thought that as long as you didnt use it on the roads then then it didnt matter if you where using it to move a forklift, boat or tractor?
  13. Can't we just fill our Jerry cans and claim we're buying a few hundred litres for our..erm...tractors? There's no split to declare at all then is there? Yes and i dont think its against the rules. Or you could goto Norbury Junction and buy it
  14. Hi Liam. Thats where i was buying mine from last year.. could not believe it when i saw the prices at Ellesmere Dont tell Simon what ever you do or it'll be £2 at the Junction before we know it (only joking) Ive just been doing some checks and it appears that Red has not trebled overnight and is infact still around the 50p mark for agricultural so it’s the marinas that are making all the profit on this price hyke. Does this happen every year?
