  11. So, what you're saying is that composting needs to be an industrial managed process - chuck it in a bin and forget about it doesn't work. Personally I don't spend sufficient time on-board to make the change from the existing system and since I have absolutely no interest in gardening whatsoever it's no great loss to me. Good to read your report but is there usually an 'h' in coir?

  13. does that mean that when the eventual shutdown of FM happens we will all be half a second out or that the powers that be will adjust the pips to take account of the processing and propagation delays? In the days before analogue TV went off air the time delay was quite noticeable.
  14. In desperate need it's worth seeking out a B&M or Home Bargains. They only have 10kg bags but the prices are a bit more reasonable (£5.79 for Blaze in October).
  15. So glad it's not just ours... he loves children of all sizes and will tolerate any amount of abuse from them but if another dog comes within sight he's twitchy and nervous. Much better than he used to be when we first got him three years ago but for safety he always wears a muzzle when he's out and there's only one field, where I can see hundreds of metres in all directions, where I dare let him off the lead apart from securely fenced dog exercise fields.
  16. I'm not one for watching TV news or especially rolling news but the flooding has been mentioned on Radio 4 as one might expect of a proper news service.
  17. That's spam, Alan, and you should recognise it as such. Happy New Year btw.
  18. The debasement of the English language continues apace. This morning on Radio 4 there was a discussion about finding awe in the everyday. Surely the point of awe is to be awestruck which shouldn't be an everyday occurance. "Awesome" says the waiter as he takes your order for avocado toast.
  19. Let me rephrase that. Pensioners have done very well out of the governments of the last 12 years, unlike public sector employees. I'm quite sure it's a complete coincidence that those governments have been led by one particular party.
  20. Merry Christmas Inflation is usually a measure of the annual rise in prices. If it's measured from October to September each year then the low price of produce in September is irrelevant. Without wishing to stray into the political section pensioners have done very well out of the conservative governments of the last 12 years unlike public sector employees.

  23. As I'm sure you're aware Smarty is 3's budget brand.
