  4. Get used to the fact that without a land line your electrical use will change dramatically - for the worse, or festoon your boat with solar so it looks like a space station, run an anti social gen set/main engine for hours on end and budget for new batteries every couple of years or so Others will say no probs dont use hair dryers, swith off the fridge in winter, watch a mini tv and if you have a washing machine a big inverter and run the engine when you use it However we manage in our campervan for 3 to 4 months in the Isle of Man with 235 a/h, 80 watt solar and a 1200 watt inverter, but this is spring/summer We are now in our 8th year living afloat CCing, none service mooring, full service marina and latterly f/s not enclosed river frontage marina Captain will not now give up her unlimited use of electric Life is for living the way you wish Good Luck Ray

  15. Hi, does your calorifier have a mixing valve on the hot water output? if not this may be the cause of your problem I quote from the SurCal website "The stored water within the boiler reaches the same temperature as the engine (generally 85°C). A thermostatic mixer valve is fitted as standard for the safety of those on board and also increases the volume of water available. If the mixer valve is set at 65°C, it blends cold water with the 85°C water provided by the calorifier and gives 25% more volume at 65°C." Ray
