  1. If you are used to Nene or Middle level prices you might be in for a bit of a shock
  2. That was my intention, I to am glad.
  3. I am neither objecting to attempts at change nor have I or my 'kin' (whatever that means)ever tried to change it, you are seriously deluded. I was simply pointing out the obvious point that if you don't like knocking your head against a brick wall stop and do something else.
  4. What? Just the sort of mad comment the would get even ****slightly miffed. And there was me thinking that you were not as stupid as you are often painted.
  5. It is STILL a free country despite the best efforts of Mrs May and co so it is perfectly possible for those dissatisfied with the current arrangements to either go over to the dark side or start their own forum and they can take the barrack room lawyers with them! That is not what P*** would have said I know:)
  6. Since the advent of the Great Helmsman (Millian/Marxist) I have a great deal of empathy for the 'girlies' whom have no confidence. Not I hasten to add because I am constantly undermined but it just seems far easier to let someone else give the orders and take responsibility for our activities. It also seems to me in my new found tranquility that boating is very much a male activity and 'girlies' very often go along out of loyalty and for wont of a quiet life. As is well known I am a reluctant boater and I am in some ways of more use than I would be consantly expressing preferences.
  7. And the patient help of a faithful, old Dobbin
  8. Or A30/35s, last time I met with him he said he had 22 in his yard!!!!
  9. Well said Mr Z, the difficulties occur when the two worlds collide esp. with the realisation that it not cheap after all.
  10. What is a co-operative mooring? One where dream catchers are compulsory perhaps:)
  11. It would suggest that the reverse is true. It is well known that insurance companies will do their level best to wriggle out of their responsibilities and it is unlikely at best that any claim that is paid will put you in the position you were before your incident. What on earth would you claim for under fully comp. anyway? As all damage to third parties and the recovery of the insured as a result of sinking is covered under third party cover. A survey on the other hand is an entirely different matter...........Ho Ho Ho as anyone who knows me knows full well. NEither of the last two canal boats that we have bought were surveyed and one was eighty years old although we knew what we were looking at if you don't for goodness have a survey especially when purchasing a rough old boat like the one under discussion
  12. What is "very interesting" about this hull? Looks like a pretty dull, basic middle seventies bit of fabrication to me.
  13. That is seriously overpriced and mis described.......semi trad?, all together boys and girls oh no it's not. I agree with the general comments of FtS and would think it is not worth more than 12000. It looks to me also that they have paid big money for the boat AND a mooring and are looking to replace the boat with something better as they have made a point of stressing the lack of a mooring. I am always suspicious of boats with semi hippy decor......dream catchers and tie died scarves etc. ( And yes I have just taken to my Anderson shelter)
  14. Very well done all round, let the anti CRT brigade put that in their pipes and smoke it
  15. If the Midlands are an option you should try and track down Dennis, he would be sure to show you hid hay as up
  16. There was apparently a history of the both the boaters getting headaches when using the stove, perhaps that might have been a clue? And it appears that the boat had just been 'renovated'
  17. No amount of detectors will overcome the stupidity of burning chipboard!!!!!! on a stove in poor condition (no door seals). Sorry if this appears a little harsh.
  18. My goodness me, simply astonishing!
